IllADELPH LEGENDS OF HIP HOP

Embodiment Project presented Rennie Harris’ 18th Annual Illadelph Legends Hip Hop Festival in 2014. The festival’s mission is to honor, preserve and disseminate the history and tradition of hip hop dance. A dance intensive, Illadelph is comprised of technique classes, workshops, panels of artists and historians, showcase performances, intergenerational community building, and the premiere of Embodiment Project’s Chalk Outlines, a hip hop dance theater performance. Illadelph Legends presents virtuosic hip hop dance pioneers and trailblazers who bridge underground traditions with concert dance, performance art, and theater and connected innovators and cultural preservationists to share the history of hip hop dance styles and their global impact.
